Dog biker apparel and accessories, including a dog helmet and designer dog ID tags, are among categories to choose from when shopping at the online pet boutique. Dog hats, jewelry and sunglasses are other popular accessories.

Even dog sneakers are available for those who want to include pets in their exercise routines.

“Sneakers are a great must-have to add to anyone’s wardrobe, especially when working out,” the Motorcycle pet carriers provider, Clark, said. “So, your dog can wear sneakers, too, and join you in your workout routine.

According to a recent WomansDay.com article, eight exercises from walking to biking are recommended for the fitness-minded who also care about pet health. But you should seek advice from your regular veterinarian before beginning a fitness regimen with your pooch.

From easy to exciting, here are eight tips for pets working out with owners:

  • Walking is a common exercise for owners and dogs to do together to stay active. While pets are least likely to be injured while walking, it is advised to build endurance and not over extend yourself or your pet when you start a new fitness routine. One veterinarian recommended walking two blocks for every 10 pounds of dog, then increasing the distance as weeks go by.
  • Running is better with larger breeds than smaller breeds that aren’t natural runners, as some toy dogs with short snouts are more susceptible to breathing problems. Starting slow and building stamina is best to avoid overexertion.
  • Fetching involves throwing and retrieving for you and your pet, and it also works out your upper arms.
  • Strength training can be done while you tone muscles by doing such things as bicep curls with smaller dogs who wouldn’t mind being used for weight lifting, or tricep dips with your small dog on your lap as you lift. While your dog sits, you can do squats.
  • Swimming is a nonimpact sport that offers cardio and resistance training for you and your dog. However, swimming is best recommended for larger breeds like retrievers and spaniels. Small breeds, including bull dogs, pugs and chihuahuas should be restricted to land routines.
  • Biking with your pet jogging alongside is recommended for the larger breeds, including labs, pit bulls, and other muscular breeds. Fitness levels should be built up slowly until your dog has the endurance to run alongside you. For the safety of you and your pet, never tie the leash to any parts of the bike, including the handle bars. Rockstar Puppy Boutique provides dog helmets that can be worn for bicycle rides whether your pooch runs or rides with you.
  • Yoga improves strength and flexibility for you and your dog. Teach your pooch to do upward and downward dog moves. Do planks over your pet while your four-legged friend lays down. From seated stretches with your small canine in your lap to final relaxation, in addition to exercise, this is also a good form of bonding.

Rockstar puppy deals with the total pet and has gift certificates available from $15 to $500 for dog lovers who want to spoil their furry friends, Clark said as a Motorcycle dog carrier supplier.
